چکیده
Abstract This study is focused on the effect of droplet length velocity in liquid-liquid Taylor flows for microfluidic applications. An experimental set up was designed to measure over a wide range lengths and flow velocities while also varying viscosity ratio. Five different fluid combinations were examined by employing AR20, FC40, HFE7500 water. Results indicate complexity predicting such regimes show strong influence ratio Bond number.

Velocity Measurements in Capillaries
A new velocimeter for measurements in microscopic regions is presented. A common charge coupled device (CCD) has been used as spatial filter for one-component velocity measurements. The characteristics of this sensor are investigated and first application results presented.
متن کاملUltrasound velocity measurements in liquid media
This review is a survey of the authors` scientific investigations in the field of ultrasound velocity measurements in electrolyte solutions and various liquid systems. Measurements were performed with a specially designed ultrasonic-laser interferometer and a pulse-echo system. The main molecular acoustic interferometric experiments were provided in aqueous solutions of nine lanthanide nitrates...

The obtained graphs of viscosity are extrapolated from the data of the rheometer, all graphs and data are shown in this appendix. First step to evaluate the viscosity of solution is to find the range of shear rate see Fig.67.
متن کاملMorphological transitions of liquid droplets on circular surface domains.
We study morphological transitions of droplets on a structured substrate containing two circular lyophilic domains for arbitrary domain and substrate wettabilities. We derive the stability criterion that at least one of the droplets must be pinned at the domain boundary with a contact angle smaller than (pi)/(2). This determines seven classes of stable or metastable droplet morphologies of the ...
متن کاملLine tension effects for liquid droplets on circular surface domains.
We study the morphologies of single liquid droplets wetting a substrate in the presence of the line tension of the three-phase contact line. On a homogeneous substrate, the line tension leads to a discontinuous unbinding of the droplet if its volume is decreased below a critical value. For a droplet wetting a structured surface with a circular domain, a line tension contrast gives rise to disco...
